Happy new year

Hello
It has been a long very busy time away from here: from home, from my studio, from my laptop.

My Etsy's shop is opened but the truth is I was far away from it. Did I lose the momentum of the Holidays sales? I sure did but that's a price I willingly, gladly pay for being a very active grandmother for the last… I lost count of the weeks. The year comes to its end, and being together with at least part of the family is a grand happy finale!

We had Hanukah together, all eight days of it!

And then Christmas was marching in when one afternoon on the way to run some errands Ethan (almost 4 years old) out of the blue told me:" you are going to be the only one without a Christmas tree"

We couldn't leave it there so the next day we went and were probably the last ones to get a tree. For the first time in my life I actually had a Christmas tree in my own house.

Ethan worked hard to make very original creative decorations and now we were not out there without…

The routine with the kids makes me feel blessed.

From waking up in the morning with them all pink and fresh, smiling for the new day to keeping them busy around the house. Feeding them, go out for exercise and fun in the playground and then the long walks on the beach finding with them all the great shoreline life from rabbits and chipmunks on the shore cliffs to seagulls, pelicans and …whales… and more inside and above the ocean.

Now that they have gone to the park with their parents I put some more clothes in the washing machine, picked up some of the toys…auch my back! I straightened up trying to stand  as straight as possible…It isn't easy and even a bit sad to be so aware of my age. I am not old! I am not old! I am not! It is just my aging bones and muscles and joints. It is not me it is just my body who, sometimes refuses to serve me as well as it used to. But…I am not complaining. This is how it goes and all together it is what makes life worth living with the good and the bad, happy and sad – flowing on the stream of time.

This year with the bad moments, the sad moments, and the pure happy ones was a good year. Still is to the last day of it.

And then...comes a new one.

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL!!!!!!!!!!

Inspiration at work

A new baby girl joined the world and my family
at the beginning of last week!

The world became a better place although it is difficult to see it right now!

Can you imagine how hard it is for a mother to be far away from her daughter when she is giving birth to a new baby? Far away I mean a couple of thousands of miles away!

All this agitation, stress, worry and restlessness were about to resolve one way or another when…

Just before...

12:30AM- Text message: "We are in the hospital and A. is in active labor. Reception in the room is bad but we'll let you know when there is news."

04:05- Text message: "Congratulations! A. woke me up at 03:50 and 15 minutes later your new granddaughter popped out like a bullet. All is well and we are all exhausted but very happy, will call as soon as possible.

And after...

The air came out of my lung with a loud sigh of relief ( realized I was holding my breath for a long time)and then I was flooded with a  huge all consuming wave of joy, happiness and frustration of me not being able to touch, kiss, hold and hug them all.

06:00- 06:00 I started knitting a blanket for Alma. I was doing the knitting while the soy wax was melting. Photos started to arrive!

I kept knitting and knitting and mixing paints into the wax. I kept my hands busy, while my heart was here and there and everywhere.

Streams of ideas, emotions, love and hope, all painted in the pink of the moment was poured into the moulds and the…blanket.

Bothe candles and blanket

And there between the knitting and the candles pouring I managed to find some peace of mind an patience to endure the time left for my flight over there.

My side, my part, of the rest of this story will be told by yet…more creations.

My First Art pARTy was a Success!!!

Yes, it was!

It was a hot afternoon so the icy Sangria was in place! It was finished before the last guest stepped in.
After some days of really hard work, the displays were all over the house, but came out nice, complimenting the candles, as well as the rest of the items for sale.

Music, drinks, a lot of good food and nice people, lots of laughs and "fighting" over
Some of the most popular items…

I enjoyed every minute.

I have to take this opportunity and thank all the people who helped me so much.
Thank you Cathy N. without you I would have got lost.
Thank you Cathy M. for having my back!
Thank you Camila for your initiative (it was all your idea, remember?) and for being you!
Thank you Veronica for your special and unique contribution for the menu!
Thank you all for coming, participating, and more than that for giving the best feedback I could have wished for!

And last but not least thank you Menachem for the real help and great support, for the patience and of course the great photos!
You all gave me the moments and the momentum I needed!

P.S

I got to show in public my first ever Christmas candles and they have passed the test with high marks. Lol!

My first Art pARTy

Only writing the title makes all my skin filled with Goosebumps.  Anticipation, excitement, will people come? Will they like the exhibits? Will they buy anything? Well, the most important thing is that those who come enjoy themselves have a good time, enjoy the food and drinks and the company! I love having people at my home. In short Israelis are known for their hospitality and so am I.

My close friends and family admire what I make and they always have worm words and compliments even for the things I love less. I get very little critisism and I need it! I have so much still to learn... It will be very interesting to see people, strangers, and their reaction. I really need the feedback.

My hand painted ceramics

Things that we collected along the years and in our traveling:

Original fine furniture and home decor items which we love but do not need anymore:

Some of the highlights of Menachem photography beautifully framed

and much more like this wall mirror

Anyway, I have lots of work to do, lots of preparation and this blog post is to remind you to come along and put in some photos for you to have an idea of what is going to be in the pARTy for sale.
I must say the items look much better in real than in the photos (my photos).

The best place to have a look at the candles is my Etsy shop at

http://www.etsy.com/shop/BusyBeeArtBoutique

I hope to see you at my pARTy.
Remember
October 27th from 4pm till 8pm at my home in Carlsbad.
